Guignol is a bit like the emblem of the city of Lyon. Guignol is the main character of the Lyonnais folklore puppet theater.

Its creator, Laurent Mourguet, a former canute who became a tooth-puller, brought it to life at the beginning of the 19th century in Lyon. We find his statue with that of Guignol, rue du Doyenné, in Old Lyon.
