The Little Prince at the Auditorium de Lyon

A Little Prince evening at the Auditorium de Lyon

Think you know Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's coming-of-age fable inside out? So did composer Marc-Olivier Dupin, until Joann Sfar's graphic novel made him discover it all over again.

Taking on The Little Prince, Marc-Olivier Dupin says he composed it "with constant pleasure". To bring to life this tale, "joyful, innocent, yet always touching and deeply profound, a story about life, love and death", he chose a small ensemble (violin, cello, clarinet and piano). Combined with the drawings of Joann Sfar, author of the celebrated The Rabbi's Cat, and carried by the voice of narrator Benoît Marchand, this modern, colourful and lively version breathes fresh air into a cult classic. No doubt about it: young and old alike will be tamed!
