  • The Pilot: Represents the pragmatic adult who, through contact with the Little Prince, rediscovers the beauty of imagination.
  • The Characters of the Planets: Each inhabitant of a planet visited by the Little Prince represents a facet of human nature, such as vanity, greed, and solitude.

Cultural Impact

The copper statue, created by Guillaubey, a sculptor originally from Lyon, was erected and then inaugurated on June 29, 2000, on the occasion of the celebration of the centenary of the birth of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry in Lyon on June 29, 1900. It represents Saint-Exupéry and the Little Prince seated at the top of a white marble column which measures more than 5m and weighs 7 tons. On the base are three sentences taken from his work: "I will look like I'm dead and it won't be true", "A star was shining and I was already contemplating it" and "You can only see clearly with the heart, the essential is invisible to the eyes", and on the base the last page of the Little Prince.
